The Save a Woman Fistula Foundation (SAWFF) will host a two-day Fistula Awareness Campaign in Kericho County on November 28–29, 2025. This community-centered initiative seeks to educate women, girls, and the wider community on the causes, prevention, and treatment of obstetric fistula while tackling the stigma that isolates survivors. The campaign will combine medical screenings, survivor testimonies, educational sessions, and media outreach to reach over 1,000 participants, including patients, survivors, health professionals, and local leaders. By promoting safe childbirth practices, encouraging antenatal care, and highlighting the availability of free treatment at Litein Mission Hospital, the campaign will empower women to seek care and inspire communities to support them.
Beyond awareness, the campaign focuses on healing and reintegration, offering survivors psychosocial support and economic empowerment to rebuild their lives with dignity. With an expected reach across all six sub-counties of Kericho, the initiative aims to screen and refer women for treatment, strengthen community health networks, and drive long-term behavior change around maternal health. SAWFF calls on individuals, organizations, and partners to support this life-changing mission—together we can restore hope, health, and dignity to women and girls affected by fistula.
